Terms of Service

The service
ReportDraft helps professionals draft, check and export reports and documents from their own notes. It is a drafting tool. It does not perform inspections, give legal, engineering, tax or financial advice, act as anyone's lawyer or notary, or certify anything.
Your responsibility
You review, edit and sign every document. You are responsible for its accuracy, for holding any licence your work requires, and for following the rules that apply to your trade, profession and location.
Plans and countries
A plan is for one suite or one product, bought on the site for one country: reportdraft.com for the United States, reportdraft.ca for Canada. A plan covers that country only. One account can hold plans on both sites, each billed in its own currency.
Trials, renewals and cancelling
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Starter plans may start with a 14-day free trial, which needs a card. During a trial you may download up to 5 templates; downloads become unlimited after your first payment. The trial length and the price that follows are shown at checkout, and your trial end date is shown on your account page. We try to send a reminder email before a trial ends, but email can be delayed or missed, so please do not rely on it: if you do not want to continue, cancel online before your trial end date and you will not be charged. You can cancel online at any time; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Unused reports in a month do not roll over unless stated.
Extra documents, single documents and per-use fees
Extra documents you buy for a plan, and single documents bought without a plan, can be used for 12 months from purchase. Some plans charge a fee for each use, such as each file or each company year; the fee is shown before you use it and is added to your plan's next invoice. A use is charged once, and never for a draft that failed.
Changes to plans and prices
When we add a document to a plan you already have, you get it at no extra cost. If we change the price of your plan, we tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
Memberships for licensed professionals
Some plans are only for licensed professionals. By buying one, you confirm that you hold the licence you name and that it is in good standing. We may check, and may end a membership that does not meet this condition, refunding any unused part of the period.
Legal document tools
Our legal document tools prepare drafts, calculations and checklists for the person using them. They are not legal services and do not replace the advice of a lawyer or notary. Some steps in a legal matter may only be done by a lawyer or notary where you are.
Your content
You own your reports, documents and notes. We use them only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy.
Liability
We work hard to keep ReportDraft accurate and available, but it is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
